This is Eli

A blog about Eli. A blog about survival – and by that, I mean life!

Today, I woke Eli up and informed him it was his birthday.

“Hey, buddy, you’re 2 today!”

“No!” he replied.

Yeah, that’s about right.

During my lunch break yesterday at work, I started a Reddit account and posted an AMA (ask me anything) there.

It’s gotten a lot more questions and response than I thought it would. I was pretty sure no one would ask me a darn thing.

I started this blog to shed light on my experience with my son, who is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness called cystic fibrosis. I like to emphasize, however, that Eli is not a disease. He is a little boy with a big smile who loves to giggle, cuddle, play with his trucks, jump off stuff, tell us “No no!”, tell us “Yeah!” and hand out hugs.

The human spirit is impervious to disease. That’s why I write. (Also, free therapy!)

If you’d like to ask a question, here is the link to the Reddit thread. Redditers are really thoughtful people, by and large, I have discovered.

Thanks for following us.

xo’s.
