How is it that I lived my whole life without cooking bacon in the oven?
Over Christmastime I learned this trick from my sister-in-law, Amy.
Here’s how you do it:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Cover baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
Lay strips of bacon on aluminum foil; I find that a small baking sheet holds about five strips side-by-side with no overlapping.
Bake 15-18 minutes based on desired crisp (I like it crispy. Really crispy. Almost burnt).
That’s it. No grease splatter and easy clean-up.
It’s easy to reserve bacon fat for use in a recipe that calls for bacon.
Afterwards, you can chop up bacon, put it in the fridge and add to soups and salads.
Bacon is a great way to add calories for Eli, who needs 2,000 per day!
I love bacon.
